yay! CT's over! not much to cheer about actually. promos more important. and it's not exactly like i did well for this CTs. anyway, i dont think anybody did well. whoever did well for this ct pls tag at my board so that i can either beat you up or find you for tuition xP
let's have a little recap:
day1:
gp was better than i had expected. though it was better, it was still quite bad, i think. econs was like what the hell. i think i desperately need to drop to H1. reading the article of the data response section was quite demoralising. even the gp compre passage was much reader-friendly. (i had expected it to be the other way round) completely flopped my econs paper 1. hope paper 2 can somehow rescue me, somehow... though i dunno how...
weiquan: fail liao la
me: yar lor, final fantasy liao.
weiquan: huh?
me: FF liao
day2:
chem structured questions was a murder. it went something like this: flip to the first page, read the first question, thought for a while, tried working out for a while, gave up and skipped to the next question. 8 marks gone. but the mcq should be able to save me i guess.
(after the chem paper)
haikal: how many questions did u not complete?
me: a bit...
haikal: whoa...
me: eh... a bit of a lot of questions...
maths paper was after chem. first time doing a 3 hr maths paper at once and it was super brain juice consuming. it's not like o lvls when the paper is 2 hrs 15 mins and you can finish it in 1 hr and sleep for 1 hr 15 mins. anyway, i thought the paper was managable though i know i should have done better if i had completed my tutorials (oops)
today:
physics paper... mcq was fairly difficult. ok actually it was quite difficult... ok lar, quite very difficult. structured questions are like chem. killed by it. btw, i came across this physics question which i think would be my all-time favourite common test question. it went something like this:
(modified and summarised cos i forget the exact question)
Sir bomb-a-lot was flying in his helicopter 18m above the ground and he drops a bomb at an initial velocity of 1m/s. but being a such a loser, the bomb landed in the muddy patch and did not explode, but instead sinks 6m into the ground before coming to a stop. calculate the average resistive force by the ground on the bomb.
no doubt this question is set by mr kenneth koh...

and germany's through to the quaterfinals. neat work by the striking duo saw the germans scoring 2 goals in the opening 12 minutes. (and i missed them because i tuned in late). anw, their next opponent would be argentina... it's won't be easy... or rather, it's gonna be very difficult...
it's my gp and econs test tmr and here i am blogging instead of doing my revision. i'm not sure if all that i've gone through for the past 2 weeks would be enough to pull me through the next 3 days. my confidence level for tmr's papers are at it's bare minimum. well, there's nothing i can do now anw, so... let's just not think about it...
i need a miracle...

watched the portugal vs. mexico match last night. it was quite an exciting and fast-paced game with both teams going almost all out (for some reason) despite needing only a draw to go through.
and the referee must have thought that there was a free-flow of yellow cards. even the commentator joked that the yellow card was gonna wear out...
went to causeway point's seoul garden for lunch with joe, gavin, andre and dian xiang after training yesterday. it was a disaster in many ways, i shall not talk about it.
(very) hungry man x 5 + seoul garden = ??
i'll leave it to you to let your imagination run wild.
common test... i can't wait for it to be over...
then it'll be nationals...

Song: Move Along
By: The All-American Rejects
Go ahead as you waste your days with thinking
When you fall everyone stands
Another day and you've had your fill of sinking
With the life held in your
Hands are shaking cold
These hands are meant to hold
Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Move along
Move along
So a day when you've lost yourself completely
Could be a night when your life ends
Such a heart that will lead you to deceiving
All the pain held in your
Hands are shaking cold
Your hands are mine to hold
Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong we move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong, we move along
Along, along, along
When all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
[x3]
(Move along)
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
Right back what is wrong
We move along
i like the lyrics in this song, and also the song itself of course.
when everything seems to fail you, just move along...

i think we look damn noob filling the steeple pit using buckets today. the track today looked like a 1900s scene where there's a huge fire and people are forming a bucket system to put out the fire. the only difference is that we're not putting out a fire but trying to fill the steeple pit. and we have to make do with this ancient method because someone cut the hose and it cannot be used. curse whoever who did that. it was kinda fun though, but tiring.
i wanna talk about something else...
(the text below requires some character encoding)

nah, i'm not gonna go crazy like some girls and say how handsome he is. when i saw this album, i didn't know 独角兽 is the chinese name for a unicorn. i always thought that the chinese for a unicorn is... something else. instead when i saw it, the "独角兽" that came into my mind was:

eh, for those who dunno, that's tsunomon from digimon adventure, lol. hey, the chinese name for this bubbly cute creature here is "独角兽" too ok. so when i first saw junyang's album at lot1's sembawang music store i was puzzled as to why junyang likes tsunomon so much that it gave his album that name. i only realised later that it was refering to a unicorn. haha, so noob. but hey, my chinese isn't that bad ok. well, maybe it is...
there's another thing that amused me, and which i kinda like. if u guys have been watching tv recently, or have been down to macdonalds, u would have seen the recent adidas commercial, the one about the two kids playing soccer with the pros and ordering them around. i really like that commercial, cos i think it's damn funny. and the two kids are damn cute. no, they don't look cute (ok maybe a little), but the way they are portrayed is.
i wont go on about it. a video says a million words. watch it for yourself:

"i can never mug at home"
that hypothesis has been confirmed today, 15/6/2006.
i was home alone for the entire day and initially thought that i could finally have some peace to mug like a true mugger. but i was wrong. the computer proved to be too much of a distraction, which is a big irony since i hardly have anything to do on the com. and another thing is the bed. well, this is self-explanatory.
another day wasted...
i mugged at kap ALONE on monday and wednesday, and it was much much much much much more fulfilling, until my mp3 player went flat...
someone slap me please. or u can also do me a favour by asking me out to mug. i don't wanna flop CT.

10th division captain - hitsugaya toushiro
i think he's damn cool. no pun intented.

bleh... screwed up my baton passing again today for the 1000th time. i just pray that i can get the baton safely into the hands of cheng yang (aka take-off-super-fast-kia) for the swift race this weekend.
and not to mention nationals, which is barely 3 weeks away.
mugging has been quite ok so far. managed to study quite a bit of chem at kap today. haha, yup, mugging at kap, just like the good old days when i mug with the 4kers there for o's.
just that my so called 'study group' today was rather wierd...
12 - 1.30: me, myself and I
1.30 - 2.30: met zul and he joined me
2.30 - 3.30: zul's jj frens came and joined in
so it's me and a bunch of jj ppl. quite wierd since i dont know anyone except zul, lol. well, the most important thing is that i managed to complete what i had wanted to mug, that's all that mattered.
EDIT: THE HEATS FOR NATIONALS SCHOOLS TRACK AND FIELD ARE OUT!!!!

quite a lot happened in the past 2 days. stayed up last night/this morning to watch the opening match of world mug 2006. oops, i mean world cup. it was quite worth the sacrifice since 1)it's one of the only few matches i could catch on channel 5 and 2) there were like 6 goals scored. yup, germ-many won costa rica 4-2. and lahm's goal was brillant, top right hand corner. the keeper could not do anything. fring's goal was just... dunno how to put it in words. he blasted the ball from about 20 metres outside the penalty box and it went beautily into the back of the net.
other than that, nothing much about the rest of the match. oh, did i mention? there was this costa rica player called 'gomez'. it's true. don't believe me? i'll show you the cctv...

yesterday's training was kinda good. running form is still poor but surely it's improving.
after training, went for lunch at adam food centre and i had the nasi lemak there again, 2 times in 3 days. same goes for the sugar cane drink xD but the main point of lunch wasnt the main course, but the dessert. nah, no mutton brain this time, cos the stall wasn't open. instead, headed down to island creamery to spend the $20 voucher we (group 2) won from track camp. the ice-cream there was ok la, i can never tell much difference between different brands of ice cream anw, they all taste alike.
after training, rushed down to dhoby ghaut mrt to meet up with the 4kers for a movie. been some time since i last saw some of them. they've... not changed much actually. still the same old bunch of fags whom i enjoying hanging around with. and there'll never be peace whenever weiquan meets tianyong. anyway, we watched 'she's the man'. ironically, i enjoyed it more than when i was watching x-men 3. probably becaused i had expected too much from the movie and for this one, i was completely unsure of what it was when et told me about it. the movie was quite a light-hearted one and i think it's definitely worth my money.
after the movie, spent like a million hours deciding where to go for dinner. it made me realise how unique the class is, how we are able to glue together well despite (very) conflicting personalities and interest. well, that's 4k for you. anw, we ended up using the "traditional-rvians-dining-at-jec" method, which is everyone buy their own food at sit in a circle at some deserted place to eat. it was a nice experience. the cool night air, the lame jokes, the stupid games and all the... ummm... crap.
nostalgia...

and so track camp 2006 was over and here i am back at home, back to normal life again.
the camp itself was truely enjoyable and fun. thanks to the track camp com for planning and organising all these. and i must say that my group was one of the most hilarious group i had ever been in, since we have the king of funny and unfunny crap (aka devathas) as our wonderful leader. and the thing is that he's my bunk mate as well. received a massive abs endurance training throughout the entire 3 days 2 nights just by going 'hahahaha'.
well, i shan't say much about the camp itself. just that it definitely allowed me to know some people much better. the whole team definitely bonded well together, both physically and mentally. still, i heard that the track team this year isn't as close as the 2005 batch. nationals is approaching in a month time. let's hope that we can all put our differences aside and work together as a team, fighting as one. there's still a lot to work on, but we'll make it =)
looking forward to the track camp next year. but oops, i think i'm looking too far ahead... for now...
