i saw this blogskin and fell in love with it. end of story.
it was actually designed for a girl and i had to alter it a little bit here and there. tell me if u see any more girly stuff which i missed out.
i think i had never had a non-anime related blog layout before xD
oh btw, i named it "shounen bushido" which actually means 少年武士道. got this idea from an anime music video i saw last year. kinda cool.
the past week was probably one of the most boring week since the start of 2006. it's all homework homework, spa, homework and homework. it's off season now and there's no trainings. it seems like there's no motivation for me to do anything now. even thursday's half day did not help...
of course, there were little things along the way that cheered the dull me up a little
-pe on monday, scored a nice goal for soccer when the goal was super small. nice one-two with shuming
-tuesday... nothing...
-wednesday... hmm... did quite well for spa? the teacher kept using the spirit level to check my vertical rule. i think he was trying to find fault in my experiment xD
-thursday... tired subway and ramly burger for the first time (ok, i know i'm noob). comparing the 2, i think ramly burger nicer. and cheaper too.
-friday... came down with a super bad flu for some reason. during lecture, qing sheng asked, : "u ok anot? need tissue paper?" if it came from others it would have been normal but qing sheng... given his heck-care-about-everything-all-the-time face, i'm stunned. haha. anw btw, i apologise to haikal and qingsheng cos i think the kena my flu bug for a while.
-saturday... kaixuan smsed me to ask me to play tennis. that cheered me up for about 10mins until we realised that we cant find a place to play.
-sunday... suling sent me lots of songs by wada kouji. damn nice =)
once an anime freak, always an anime freak.

lol, i think i just commited suicide by registering for the intra-school badminton tournament. me and qing sheng playing doubles. think we're gonna die together.
i havent touch my badminton racket since i-don't-know-when
all these while it's tennis and tennis for me. tables tennis sometimes but not badminton. havent smashed a shuttlecock since decades ago.
i hope i won't embarrass myself by accidentally attempting a topspin or trying to slice the shuttlecock.
someone gimme badminton crash course?

tmr's half day and i hope i won't be wasting it by going home at 12:20... cos i've currently got nothing on... maybe i'll just go run a few rounds on the track or something...
had my make-up physics spa today (finally). not as hard as i had expected, considering the fact that my practise tasks were disastrous.
missed the track meeting today, but heard that there's gonna be a huge change to the track team. mr (funky) lim's leaving, and mr. (felix) lim's sort of stepping down somehow. (not sure about what i heard). i'm not sure what's gonna happen to the team next year... and we're having a major runner shortage with the j2s leaving.
we're on our own now.yujia kept asking me to run for track exco... but frankly i've been thinking about it for some time already, and my conclusion is still a no. of cos, if i can do something for the team, i'm willing to. it's just that the idea of me holding one of the exco positions doesn't fit. at least i think that way. i'm just someone who wants more freedom to do whatever i like, just to slack around and talk cock all the time. i'm happy with what i am now and i want to remain this way. just a member of the njc track team. that's all. sorry if that sounded selfish... but i just feel that way.
sorry.

mizuno wave run 2006
what a horrid way to (re)start long distance running again. but it's ok, at least i finished the entire 10km.
reach kovan hub at 7:10 when the race is suppose to start at 7:30. obviously, i was super late, along with joe. so by the time both of us put our belongings into dev's father's car, the race was about to flag off already. as joe went to register, i tried to do whatever stretching i could in that mere 1min to try and rescue myself. needless to say, it was a futile attempt.
oh btw, i was the race crasher cos i didnt register. thomas was suppose to crash too but he didnt go. i guess it's because he had to abide by the LAW. xD
anyway, the run started and i tried following justin, andre and dev for a while (joe was nowhere to be found). after about 1km or so, i realised that i'll die if i continue at their pace so i decided to slow down a bit and let them go. reached the 2.5km mark and the guy beside me read out the timing: 10:15. at that point i realised that i'll really die soon. joe caught up with me at around 3km. that was then when i could feel the lactic flowing in and i seriously needed to stretch. so the both of us stopped at this bus stop at stretch for like 3mins (which is quite useless). continued with joe up for a while before i finally told him to go ahead and not wait for me. reached the roundabout and told myself to not stop for the next 5km.
struggled through the (very) boring route with my left leg flooded with lactic. at this point, many thoughts went through the back of my head. but i cant rmb what they were. strangely enough i was thinking of all the animes i had watched and how the anime characters always managed to pull through difficult times, especially naruto. lolx, it's wierd but that's what was in my mind a some point in time
caught up with joe at around 6km and he paced me throughout the rest of the run. it felt better when there's someone running beside me. (thanks horse). at around 7-8km, my left leg was totally numb already. right leg was slight better but still just as bad. but that didn't stop me as i continue to struggle through the last part. reached the last few hundred metres with joe still beside me. tried to gather my remaining energy for a last burst, but found none. dragged myself across the line at 63:57. slow...
i'm gonna try 10km again at new balance real run. and this time i'll make sure i reach early/on time to have a proper warm-up.

slept at almost 2am last night/this morning just to pia my gp va, and i think the same thing is gonna happen to me tonight when i work on my pw eom... it seriously sucks to be doing work again... how i wish nationals would last a bit longer so that i can pon at least another week of school...
anw, final day was finally over yesterday. i had brought my camera down to cck as usual with the intention of capturing some good shots of the race but i realised i couldn't do so much. reason being that the race was so intensed that i couldn't help but lower my camera and start cheering and shouting. but sadly, it wasn't enough to help the girls secure the 2nd or 3rd place... it was sooooooooooooo close. anw, well done to all those who ran yesterday. i'm sure you all gave your best and njc is proud of you all.
btw, regarding the final day's pictures, i found lots of them on singaporeathletics.com website:
http://www.cmfaq.com/singaporeathletics/forums/index.php?act=module&module=gallery&cmd=sc&cat=78
and yujia, there's this damn nice picture of u dipping across the finishing line for the 4x100m race.
ok, track season '06 is over. for now.... i'll need to hurry and finish my eom so i can have a good sleep...
i wish i could do something more to help...

ok. i've got one week worth of hmwk waiting to be completed so i'll make this quick... i really feel like ponning school tmr cos the temptation is so great, but the other side of me felt that i've missed enough lectures already so... i'll be a good kid for tmr...
anw, the owner of this blog, as u all know (or u all might not know), is a serious idiot when it comes to shopping, unless it's comics connection you're talking about. and now, i'm seriously in need of the following items:
1) wallet. there's a hole in my wallet at a place where there shouldn't be one and my coins are flowing out such that dm/dt is a negative. as for those who are thinking that they can stalk me to pick up coins, forget it cos i have this thing keeping the coins from falling to the ground and it's called the pocket, where i put my wallet in. anw, so far i haven't seen a wallet that i fancy. anyone can help me out by recommending some nice ones? not too ex though...
2) watch. i lost mine during national juniors this april. either that or someone stole it. i'm someone who can't live without a wrist watch. i don't know how people can use their phones as one cos i find it very troublesome to take it out of the pocket and putting it back after that. plus, i think i'm gonna need a stopwatch soon. i'm intending to start doing lots of long runs after a short break after track season ends. i've been looking at watches at the shops but they all seem a little too (very) expensive...
actually, i think that's about it.
calling all shopping queens (and kings), i'm sure u all know of some good catches. please use ur wise knowlegde and tell me what to buy.
disclaimer: i'm not hinting anyone to buy me any present so please don't get the wrong thing in ur head. my birthday is nowhere near anyway. i'll get these items myself, i just need ur help in recommending.

went down to cck stadium today to support today and that means i've not gone to school for this entire week already. woots. here's part of the conversation between me and mr. lim yesterday:
me(joking): mr. lim, if tomorrow (today) i get scolded for not handing in homework can u help back me up? cos i haven't been doing hmwk for this entire week. the past 4 days i got race then everyday go home too tired to do anything.
mr. lim: tmr got sprint races anot?
me: got
mr. lim: come down and support la.
tada!
and that's just what i did.

apart from those with races today, the rest are all pon-ners... erhem i mean... supporters =)

aaron | 8:36 PM
wth, i just ran the worst and the most cock-up race i had ever ran. ytd i was just saying i won't complain abt 4x1 but today i'm gonna whine about my 200m
first was the rain. my heat, which was the last heat for 'a' boys, got caught in the downpour and it continued nevertheless. so the gun went off, twice. fault start. and the culprit was me. it wasn't exactly a fault start but it was a fault start... i dunno how to explain it... the starter just went, 'no warning to anyone'
ok, so the next start went well. but the run was kinda horrible. zero visibility. the only things i could see were the rain and shades of the acjc and vjc jersey in front of me. even the finishing line was invisible. just anyhow agar agar dipped when i reached the end. but i felt my run was okay... i thought all went well and it felt good.
when i got back to the stands after my swim, mr lim told me, '24.5'
ok, whoo new p.b., i THOUGHT.
when the official results are out, '26.28' which is like super super super super super super super super super super super off. my worst race time ever. and needless to say i did not make it to the semis. actually, my entire heat did not make it. wat the F***. up till now i'm still on unsure about what on earth exactly happened for me to run such a turtle timing.
rahhhhhhh, i'm pissed.
ok still, i'll try and look on the brighter side (although it's still very dark), i can focus on my 4x400 on thursday.

defeated.
i'm not going to whine about how close we came to winning, cos a loss is a loss.
the only consolation we had was that our timing improved quite a fair bit, but it still wasn't enough
haix...
4x400m...
not gonna let the same thing happen again...
to yuan chang(though i doubt you'll read this): don't be too sad about ur race... luck just wasn't on ur side this year. train hard and i'm sure u can make a great comeback and win next year. let's all work hard together.
this is 10% luck
20% skill
15% concentrated power of will
5% pleasure
50% pain
and a 100% reason to remember the name

germany won portugal. a pity i didnt catch that match...
2nd day of nationals over. 100m didnt go very well for quite a lot of people, but they qualified nevertheless.
my first race begins tmr. 4x100m. to be honest, our chances of qualifying for the finals are very slim. no matter how u look at it. especially now when cheng yang is not running for us anymore. but of cos we will fight our best to achieve that spot in the finals. lady luck had already done whatever she could to help us by putting us in the lousier semi-finals, now, it is up to us to fight our guts out for the third spot tmr. that's probably the only way for us to qualify as the fastest 2 losers will definitely come from semi-finals 1.
njc's 4x1 team last year was so much better than this year's. i just hope that we won't be letting our seniors down...
i want to be on the track on 19th july. i will be there...

and so the host lost to italy. kinda sad... they played well, but i must admit italy played better than them. well, the better team won... haix...
well, nvm, at least that should keep me from wanting to watch the finals since germany is no longer there. can have a good sleep before my race and not keep thinking abt the results. speaking of my race... it's about time i stop cheering for the soccer teams and save my energy to cheer for our track team instead. after all, it's the NATIONAL team i'm in. xD
yup, the races have started today and just today, someone had already gone and broke one of the records. 'b' girls 3000m. no prizes for the athletes who're able to guess who did it.

whew, my eyelids are feeling quite heavy now despite sleeping for the entire day. witnessed the clash between england and portugal and brazil and france.
i thought england and portugal both played pretty well. england's downfall came when looney rooney got himself red carded and england was left to struggle with 10 men. they held on, only to lose out on penalties. sad.
brazil lost to france, and i wasnt surprised by that. france played much better than brazil in that game. zidane's skills make ronaldinho seem like a noob in that game.
semi's are next. but i'm not sure if i wanna watch. nationals starts 4 days from now...

training yesterday was fairly ok. went out for dinner with the trackers at adam's road, then rushed home for the germany-argentina match. well, sad to say that the germans didnt play as well, but yea, every team will have a bad game sometime. but they got through, after much hard work...
the first half started off at a rather slow pace. both teams werent attacking much. argentina had much of the possession. germany couldn't get a good crack at goal, except once when ballack timed a perfect run to meet schneider's cross, only to head it wide.
the second half was where it got exciting. argentina gave germany a wake up call just minutes after the break with a goal that came from a corner kick.

and they really woke up after that. the germans pushed forward like mad. i could see the pace increasing quite a fair bit. it's like a 400m race and u got cut at the last 150m and u're summoning all ur adrenaline to chase that person back. the game was brought back to life again as germany, time and again tried to break the argentine defense. a couple of mistakes in the german defense almost saw argentina netting in their second goal. but the defenders manage to cover up their mistakes. and so the germans fought on hard.

argentina adopted a defensive play by subbing in some defenders. but that wasn't enough the stop germany's continual massacre. their effort paid off in the 80th minute when miroslav klose did what he had done best in the 2002 world cup - he used his head.

the score tied at 1-1 for the rest of the match. both teams were unable to break the deadlock. in the end, it was down to penalty kicks. i had always thought that penalty kicks were 90% about luck, until jens lehmann, the german goalkeeper, enlightened me. he read all 4 of argentina's shots perfectly, diving in the right direction for every one of them. i dont think luck has anything to do with it. he deserve the full credit for making those 2 saves and bringing victory to the germans.
