good training today, nice cool weather plus we had a ultra strong tail wind while doing our 20m starts. could have better made use of it to get a better pb though, wasted. but my drills are still not up to standard i think... everything thing else was cool. attendance getting better. yup.
yesterday went for a swim at cck swimming complex, something which i havent done since decades ago. for those who don't know, i'm not really a swimmer. the last time i could only do 1 lap and will die panting. so for yesterday, i wanted to see how i fair. swam for 1 lap initially and started panting already. did 2 more laps after that. slowly, i increased the distance to 2 laps (100m) then on to 3 (150m) making 400m, the distance for my pet event on the track. lol. after that i thought i was crazy when i wanted to do 400m at one shot (8 laps), but when i was done with my 8th lap, strangely, my body didnt want to stop, so i kept on going. my mind was like "we've done long enough, there's still training tmr, let's stop" but my body just kept on moving disobeying every signal sent from the brain. 500m, 600m, 700m... and finally forced myself to stop at the 1km mark or i would not have made it for training today. 20 laps of the pool... even i was surprised at myself... i mean, maybe it's normal for those who swim a lot but for me, that's like completing a half marathon. i shall swim more often from now on, it's good exercise.
ok that's about it for swimming. there's still tennis date with shaun and some others on wednesday. i'm finally gonna master the serve (LOL) so that i can play a proper match.
for now, there are still things to worry about:
seniors farewell
ogl stuff
and standard chartered marathon is coming up! it's not gonna be a boring holiday after all =)
